Michael and Laura - The Beginning!

When Michael and Laura met on a cold November night for their first date, it was love at first sight.  In the first several dates that ensued, Laura got lost finding her way to Michael's apartment, they went to a late-night movie and both fell asleep, and Laura almost burned down the kitchen in an ill-fated attempt to make dinner.  Somewhere along the way their romantic dreams began a conversation about their professional dreams and what you see here today is the beginning of a culmination of life's work.

Michael holds his undergraduate degree from Canisius College in mathematics and secondary mathematics education.  He went on to pursue and complete two master's degrees from Buffalo State College in a Master's of Science in Technology Education and from Canisius College in a Master's of Science in Educational Administration.  He currently teaches 7th grade and 7th grade honors math at a suburban middle school in the Buffalo region.  He is also the 7th grade coordinator for the building.  In his spare time, he is working towards his black-belt in Tae Kwon-Do, winning multiple competitions and awards in forms and sparring.  His current level is red-belt. Michael also recently played in a Gus-Macker tournament and enjoys playing ball in various Buffalo area leagues.  An avid hunter, Michael took an eight point buck and used the deer meat to make Laura tacos on their second date!

Michael says Laura is the better cook, but the two often find life the best when they cook together- or when her grandma cooks for them!

Laura recieved her undergraduate Honors degree in secondary English education from Canisius College.  She is currently pursuing her Literacy Master's degree at Canisius College as well.  She is working as an 11th and 12th grade Honors English teaching at an urban Buffalo school.  Teaching in the inner city has been a rewarding experience for Laura and in her free time she runs an annual Poetry Slam event for the school and also works as an 11th grade coordinator for the building.  Laura published Once Upon Charles Dickens in the spring of 2006 and loves teaching Dickens to her students.  Laura was co-captain of the Canisius equestrian team in college and used to rodeo ride in her high school years.  Michael took Laura to a rodeo in Buffalo and they often support each other's passions.

Together the two enjoy going camping, rollerblading, fishing, playing tennis, cooking, and living life together!  Writing together is the next step in their careers and they look forwarding to publishing in many different genres in the years to come.
